8 t/d High-Strength Sodium Hypochlorite Generator – Overview
The QINGY 8 t/d high-strength sodium hypochlorite generator is our largest single-skid system, designed for major water infrastructure projects, power stations, and industrial complexes. With four independent electrolysis modules producing a combined 8 tons/day of 10%–15% NaClO (≈333 kg/h active chlorine), this system delivers industrial-scale on-site chlorine generation with built-in redundancy and the lowest cost per kg Cl₂ in the QINGY product range.

Quad-Module Architecture: Maximum Redundancy
The 8 t/d system features four independently controlled electrolysis modules. This design philosophy provides:
- N+1 redundancy: System maintains 75% output even if one module is offline for maintenance.
- Staged capacity control: PLC automatically activates/deactivates modules based on demand (25%/50%/75%/100% steps), optimizing energy efficiency.
- Rotating duty cycle: Modules automatically rotate lead/lag duty to equalize electrode wear, extending overall system life.
- Zero single point of failure: Each module has independent power supply, cooling, and controls. Common components (brine supply, water treatment) are oversized and dual-pumped.
Major Applications
- Mega municipal water treatment plants (>500,000 m³/d capacity)
- Combined-cycle and nuclear power station circulating water systems
- Petrochemical complexes (refineries, LNG terminals, chemical plants)
- Large desalination plants (RO pretreatment chlorination)
- Pulp & paper mill bleach plant supplement
- Mining operations (ore leaching, process water, tailings management)
- Regional water authority centralized disinfection systems
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Advantage
At 4.0 kWh/kg Cl₂ and 2.8 kg salt/kg Cl₂, the 8 t/d system achieves the lowest operating cost per kg of active chlorine in the QINGY range. For a plant consuming 300 kg Cl₂/day:
- Annual salt cost: ~$30,000 (vs. $110,000+ for delivered NaClO)
- Annual electricity: ~$17,500
- Annual maintenance: ~$5,000
- Total annual operating cost: ~$52,500 (vs. $150,000+ for delivered chemical)
- Annual savings: $80,000–100,000
- Payback period: 1.5–2.5 years (depending on system size)
Advanced Monitoring & Industry 4.0 Ready
The 8 t/d system comes standard with Siemens S7-1500 PLC and supports multiple communication protocols:
- Modbus TCP/IP: Direct integration with plant SCADA systems
- OPC-UA: Industry-standard secure data exchange for Industry 4.0 environments
- Cloud monitoring (optional): 4G/WiFi module provides real-time dashboard with production trends, alarm history, and predictive maintenance alerts
- Historian integration: Export data to OSIsoft PI, Wonderware, or any OPC-compliant historian
Installation & Commissioning Support
- Pre-shipment: Full Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with client witness option
- Shipping: FCL container or flat-rack (all piping pre-connected on skid)
- Installation: 10–15 days including all mechanical, electrical, and controls integration
- Commissioning: QINGY engineer on-site for startup, optimization, and 72-hour SAT
- Training: 3-day operator and maintenance training included

FAQ
What if my chlorine demand changes seasonally?
The quad-module design naturally handles variable demand. The PLC automatically stages modules based on tank level or flow-proportional dosing. During low-demand periods, only 1–2 modules operate, saving energy. During peak summer demand, all 4 modules run at full capacity.
Can the system be expanded later?
Yes. The auxiliary systems (water treatment, brine making, storage) are oversized to support future capacity increases. Additional electrolysis modules can be added without replacing the entire system.
How is H₂ gas managed at this scale?
At 8 t/d capacity, H₂ generation is significant. We offer two solutions: (1) Forced-draft dilution to below 1% LEL and roof-level venting (standard), or (2) Catalytic H₂/O₂ recombination to form water (optional, for sites with strict emission requirements).
